Happy 100th Birthday, Avis!
Avis Spear was born in Mapleton, Maine on May 19, 1913 to Melvin and Cora Archer. She was happily married to Newbert and they resided in Milo, Maine for 65 years before Newbert passed away on April 19,1998. Avis stayed in Milo even after Newbert passed. Avis was an active housewife and she also worked at Daggett’s Drug Store in Milo, Maine. They had three sons: Darrell, who currently resides in Florida and regularly visits Avis, Byron, who has passed away and Dale who has also passed away. Avis moved in with us here at Pleasant Meadows Estates on Valentine’s Day 2012. She is a spry woman who lived in her own apartment before coming here. On May 19th, 2013 at her home, Pleasant Meadows Estates, over 52 family and friends gathered to celebrate her 100th year.
